What Is Climate Justice?

Climate justice frames climate change in terms of social, racial, and gender equity, and explores how these overlapping identities can compound the effects of climate change. It addresses the disproportionate impact of climate change on marginalized communities. Finally, climate justice aims to amplify the underrepresented voices in the climate movement. It is a collaborative initiative, incorporating the ecological knowledge of multiple stakeholders. For example, Traditional Ecological Knowledge, or the knowledge of indigenous communities, is critical to building a more climate resilient society.
